In the 60’s Roger Foley's career as an artist started to take off, while at the same time the counter-culture movement started to expand people’s minds. The publication of Life Magazine’s grand essay ‘LSD ART’ in 1966 covering the future of Light as an Art gave Roger the confidence to leave his nine-to-five job and expand on his hobby of 'playing with light' - so he became an Artist - A Sculptor of Light.Roger Foley's work was accepted by diverse subcultures, as everyone needed a Lightshow for their performances and happenings. These Lightshows became a part of the Counter-Culture Revolution, and also part of the Sexual Revolution. Roger Foley has exhibited work in New York, New Delhi, Bangkok, Kununurra, The Blue Mountains, Sydney and Melbourne with dozens of Live productions in between. His works spans from the 1960's to today, Roger's recent work includes Bluesfest Byron in 2022, Nimbin Aquarius 50th Anniversary in 2023, with the local Japanese Spiritual Shinto Community in 2024, the Nimbin Roots Festival in 2024.
